God's Plan of Salvation

For You

Many people may have heard the verse in John 3:16, which says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  The sad truth, however, is that while many people may have this verse memorized, the simple truth of God's salvation is not understood by the very people who know it by heart.  The Bible says that Christ's salvation is easily understood by children, and yet we are blind to understanding the meaning of salvation without asking the Lord to show us and to open our eyes to see what it means to be "saved", or "born again". 

Sometimes we can let words be a stumbling block to us.  Don't let anything keep you from Jesus.  The enemy of our souls wants to keep you from knowing the truth - that God loved you so much that He came as a human being so He could personally pay the debt of sin you owe.  No one else can take your place, for no one else's sacrifice is perfect, or able to pay for your sins.  The Bible says that "the wages of sin is death,"  (Romans 6:23), "but the gift of God is eternal life."  Do you see?  Whether you think you are a good person or not, (and you are not according to Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"), YOU need a Savior!

Contrary to what some churches may espouse, the Bible says that Jesus is the Only Way.  Jesus also says to just believe in Him, come and ask Him to save you, and that He will accomplish the work of saving you.  So, right now, you can pray and ask God to help you understand.  You can ask Him to save you.  You could pray whatever is on your heart, or, if it helps, pray this prayer: "Lord, I come to you to ask your forgiveness for my sins.  I recognize that I am a sinner, and that I need your forgiveness and salvation from the penalty of my sins.  Please forgive me and change my heart.  Make me more like You.  Help me to grow in You, and to turn away from the things that displease you.  Give me faith where I have none."

If you pray sincerely from your heart to God, than there is no uncertainty of your salvation!!  You can know that you are going to Heaven.  Your new life in Christ does not stop with your prayer, but rather it has just begun.  Just as you need food to grow and nourish your body, your Spirit, the Holy Spirit planted in you when you received Jesus as your Savior, needs nourishment.  Read the Bible every day.  This will help you to understand the things of God, and will nourish your soul.  The Bible also says to not neglect the gathering of the saints, or, in other words, "go to church!"  This will not be a dry, weary task as in the past, for your heart will desire to be around God and His children.  The more you saturate your mind and heart with the word of God, the more transparent things will become to you.
